The first thing to remember about this movie is that it ignores _everything_ that happened after _Terminator 2: Judgment Day._ All of that just didn't happen. You basically pretend none of it exists, since that's what _Dark Fate_ does. I can't really disagree vis-a-vis Dani. She wasn't really fleshed out, not really given a chance to be an actual person. I think a lot of that, though, is just the number of characters we had to deal with. Grace didn't really get much contextualization, either; no one did, really. Between Grace, Dani, Carl, the Rev-9, and Sarah, we didn't get a really good chance to actually get to know any of them. To "get" Sarah's motivation, you almost had to watch the first two movies, while the second movie did a good job introducing her to audiences to hadn't seen the first movie. As for Carl growing a conscience, that's a direct continuation of the idea put forth in the second movie, where a Terminator learns how to be more human by interacting with humans. I think that's why when Grace asks if he's grown a conscience, he clarifies by saying a form of one, something _like_ one. Much like in _T2,_ as he discusses sensations that could be called pain, but aren't actually pain. He can has forms of elements humans possess, but not exact copies. He can feel things, both physically and emotionally. Incidentally, that's also something _T2_ touches on. The smirk the Terminator gives John when he hefts the minigun, the smile he gives John when he says, "Trust me" before going to take care of the police without hurting them, especially near the end, when he veritably shouts at John to get away so he can deal with the T-1,000. Most poignantly, the very end, when the Terminator says he understands now why humans cry. The idea of Carl growing a conscience is only a logical progression from concepts put forth in _T2._ That is, incidentally, why I like the movie. I find the rest of the franchise to have just gone bat-guano insane, so I like that _DF_ just wipes all that off the board. It continues from _T2,_ to tell a more coherent story. This was made by fans not only of the franchise, but of the medium, and it really shows. This was a passion project. Of course a lot of people dislike it; fans are the worst. Fans dislike everything that isn't exactly what they want, until they look back years later with nostalgia. You see this in any fandom; _Star Wars,_ for example, had people veritably burning effigies of George Lucas when the prequel trilogy came out. Now, you find people not just defending the prequel trilogy, but saying it's good--and attacking the sequel trilogy. A few years from now we'll get people defending the sequel trilogy. It's really the same here. People dislike _DF_ because it wasn't what they thought it "should" be, but that is, again, true of fans in any fandom. I say this _as_ a fan, mind. I've had my moments, unfortunately. 😅 🏳‍🌈🖖

good job. there are several visual nods in pulp fiction to stanley kubrick's greatest film, the killing, from 1956. you should react to that one sometime, one of the best noir films of all time.

I love that the last rule subtly is part of disobeying the first 2 rules. If no one is talking about fight club, how can it be any one's first time past the first meeting? Love it, disorder is the real rule of it all, or something like that.

Honestly....there were a few (I stress the phrase "a few") things that were good with this movie, but I could easily have done without Luke milking that Thala-siren (the alien seal 👽 🦭 thing) and drinking it.

Season 1 of it turned out to be my favorite STAR WARS thing ever... and I've been around since the beginning. Season 2 starts the day after my birthday in April 2025. I'm very excited for it! carol, luke's xwing is in the water on the island, he needs R2 to fly it. leia had R2 in the last movie, that means she was on the island with luke, rey's parents were together when they left her. rey had a doll of an xwing pilot and a snow speeder helmet , who do we know that is an xwing pilot that also flew on hoth the snow planet? kylo's real name is ben, leia only sent for obi wan but never met him, and han only met obi wan for like an hour, luke knew old ben his whole life, so why would han name his only son, ben? in the return of the jedi movie, luke told leia that they are siblings, then she is sad. why? in the end of empire strikes back, luke and leia are alone together in their pajamas..., bam chicka wow wow, she kissed him in that movie, what do you think two horny teens would do if they were in space..., so she is sad when luke told her. i think she was already pregnant, and she knew she had to get rid of the children? because incest is shamed upon in japanese culture and star wars was based off a japaness movie, the Hidden Fortress.

Not a lot or people doing a reaction video of this movie realize that at the gas station scene Emil only recognizes Murphy because of the phrase "dead or alive your coming with me" which he said to him earlier at the steal factory. Most people in reaction videos think its because of his exposed mouth area. Good job!

In the book it is referred to as a "fell beast," although that is more of a description than a name ("fell" is an old word meaning "scary"). There are no dragons in LOTR, but if you read Tolkien's children's story "The Hobbit," or watch the Hobbit movies, you'll meet Smaug, a truly terrifying dragon.

At 36:43 you ask, "How does he know his name?" Gandalf had told Frodo about Smeagol back in the Mines of Moria. You're moving us along pretty fast, and you skipped that scene.

At 13:00, the moth didn't transform into the Eagle. Gandalf sent the moth with instructions to bring the Eagle to Isengard. The Eagle is Gwaihir the Windlord--we'll be seeing him again; also, he figures at an earlier time in The Hobbit movies.

Why the elves are leaving: The elves are not from Middle Earth. They are from the undying lands. Now they are returning home where they are immortal, in the sense that when they die, they return again in new healed bodies. Frodo and Bilbo are going with the Elves by special invitation. This is the only way Bilbo can be healed from the curse of the ring and that Frodo can be healed of the Morgul blade. This is why the film is saying Arwen is giving up immortality to be with Aragorn.
